After creating cupcake towers for a few weddings and birthdays, passionate foodie and Leith's student Lisa Sanguedolce formally launched Le Dolci in September 2009. First cupcake orders were to busy PR offices and newspapers in London; The Guardian's media desk gave us a 9/10! Lisa's goal is to bring to market baked goods that contain only fresh and natural ingredients baked in an old fashioned style.
Why start a cake club?
'With everyone's hectic schedules a weekly cake drop means busy professionals would be ready for the weekend, whether it was for a dinner party or for their family as the cake club boxes include things like biscotti, scones, brownies, banana bread and chocolate cake which gives them a bit of variety. For weekly drops to offices, it's a simple way to treat staff. A delivery to your door gives you a little bit of home baked goodness, with the least amount of hassle. No need to rush to an overcrowded bakery, at the other end of town and no more purchasing of cakes at the supermarket full of preservatives and mysterious ingredients,' says Chief Cake Baker, Lisa Sanguedolce.
